I had this project in mind for a while now, and a chilly rainy afternoon was what I needed to be inspired to finish it! Pennants are about 5 inches long from tip to tip and 1 1/2″ tall at the center. I recommend using glue stick to avoid wrinkles, but if you put some heavy books on them until they’re dry you it should be fine. I rushed to finish my pennants to take photos so they look a little clumpy.

Wine table numbers is probably the coolest table number idea I’ve ever seen. It’s been a while since I created some printable goodies for my darling readers so I made these wine table numbers for you! Print on 8.5″x11″ sheet labels (you can purchase label sheets from onlinelabels.com). To remove the original label, soak your bottles in warm water with dish soap for a few minutes and the label should come off easily.

Instructions:

Step 1: Buy hat boxes or plain boxes with lids at any craft stores. I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby. The black and white damask print box already came decorated the rest were just cardboard.
Step 2: Cut a hole in the box that you want the cards to be inserted in. For the green box I placed the slot in the top box, for the red box I placed the slot in the middle box.
Step 3: Once you decide where you are going to place your slot, you must cut holes in the bottom on that box and any boxes below it so that the cards can fall to the bottom. Make sure and leave ½” or ¼” edge on the bottom of the box so that you can glue it to the next box.

Step 4: After you have all the boxes cut you can begin covering them with paper. The green box was covered with scrapbook paper and the red box was covered with gift wrap paper. With the larger boxes I recommend gift wrap paper.
Step 5: Once your boxes are covered, glue them together.
Step 6: Now you can begin decorating them. I used ribbon and letters on the green box. For the red box I glued silk flowers to the top, painted a wooden letter and placed in on the box, used ribbon, and added a tulle bow and feather.

They are not that difficult and can really make a statement on your gift table.

Brandi created these gorgeous centerpieces using toilet paper rolls! I could never looking at the final product image:

Step 1: Spray paint the bottom of a clay pot black, or whatever color you choose. Once dry paint the top portion a difference color.
Step 2: Collect branches to put in your pots. I just cut branches from a tree in our yard and used one large branch per pot.
Step 3: Fill the pot with rocks to help secure the tree branch.

To create the toilet paper ornaments:

Step 1: Cut a swatch of fabric that will cover the toilet paper roll. Don’t worry about getting all the way to the top and bottom because your accessories will cover it.
Step 2: Once you have the fabric on the roll, punch two small holes in the top of the roll, one on each side. Then thread wire or string thru the holes to create a way to hang it.
Step 3: Glue beads to the bottom of the roll.
Step 4: Glue a small boa to the top.

For the gems:

Step 1: Collect gems with holes in the top to hang from your branches. I purchased my gems from Michaels and then thread clear wire or string through them.
Step 2: Glue orchids randomly on the branches.
Step 3: Finally, fill the pot with flowers to cover the rocks.

diy aisle runner

Continuing with our DIY project contest, Brandi made her aisle runner that turned into wall art after the wedding.

Instructions:

Step 1: purchased white muslin that measured 36″ wide. I used a bolt, but purchases as many yards to create the length you want.
Step 2: Layout the muslin and iron flat the section you wish to do the logo. I placed mine toward the bottom of the aisle runner.
Step 3: I purchased the stencil from Hobby Lobby. Arrange the stencil so that you will be able to fit two of them angled where the ends almost touch.
Step 4: Complete the circle by rotating the stencil around four times.
Step 5: For the initials, create your layout on the computer and print it. Place the paper under the fabric centered in the circle. You will be able to see the initials through the fabric.Trace the initials with paint. I used acrylic craft paint. Do the same thing for the date.
Step 6: The edges of the muslin are already serged all you have to do is serge or hem the top and bottom of the muslin.

After our wedding, I cut the logo from the aisle runner to create a wall hanging. I left enough room at the top and bottom to create a 2″ hem. Leave the ends open so that you can stick a curtain rod through.

Water Bottle Templates

Kari also created these water bottle labels to personalize her bacholerette party. Very girly and so cute!

Using a template, I designed my own personalized water bottle labels. Using different fonts and our wedding colors, I made them my own. Then I printed them on full sheet waterproof labels using my at home printer and cut them to size using my paper cutter. I bought water bottles from Walmart, removed the product labels and carefully put on my own labels. I plan to include these in my OOT boxes for our guests. This is a simple project any bride can do that gives a touch of personalization sure to impress any guest. The labels can be altered so we can use them at the bridal shower or even the bachelorette party.

Save the date wheel

This Save the Date gives pieces of information about your upcoming wedding from a window as you turn the wheel around.

What you’ll need:

• eyelets, eyelet setter
• 4 3/4″ round cards (got mine from here)
• Xacto knife
• Long reach punch hole

Matt and I created this Save the Date back when we were planning our wedding, but at the time we could never figure how to neatly punch a hole in the center of both sheets. All we needed actually was a long reach punch hole, but by the time we advanced in our scrapbooking skills it was just too late to send them out.

I hope this template we created can be useful to anyone!

Download Art Deco Save the Date.zip. There is one TIFF file, which is the cover of the Save the Date, and a Photoshop file with unmerged layers so you can edit to add your info. Unfortunately I don’t know how to use Word that well, but if you do and would like to convert the .psd file to a .doc file for us, please let me know!

Step 1: Open cover in Illustrator, Word or any program you’re comfortable with and type in your names on the lower half of the circle. Font used for the cover is called Empire State Deco and can be downloaded for free here. On the back sheet type in your wedding date, location, etc.

Step 2: After printing, cut a window using a Xacto knife. Insert eyeleys, tear off paper trimming (circle cards come in a square shape to easily fit any printer). This template will fit into any 5×5 envelope.

diy yay! flags

Anne D made these fun flags for her processional. In lieu of the traditional rice/petal toss, guests wave these cute flags as they depart the church.

What you will need:

• Flags: Natural Mini Flags from Oriental Trading ($5.99 dozen)
• Avery® #8938 T-shirt Transfers for Inkjet Printers. Available @ Staples or Office Depot. The transfer paper is sold in packs of 6 sheets and 18 sheets. I initially tried another kind of transfer paper that I got from Joann’s., but it was reeeeally bad compared to the Avery stuff. Stick with Avery.
• Scissors
• For the actual ironing-on, you will also need an iron, a wooden cutting board, and a pillowcase that you don’t care about.

Step 1: Start out by laying out the YAYs on an 8.5″ x 11″ page. You must create this in a program like Adobe Illustrator that allows you to mirror the image so everything prints backwards.

Step 2:Each sheet yields about 8 YAYs, depending on what size or font you use. I used a few different fonts just for variety.

Step 3: Next, cut out the individual YAYs from the page, cutting close to the letters around the edges (About 1/8″).

Step 4: I made my flags double sided, with a YAY on each side. To do this, you need to iron ONCE. So visually line up the two yays on the flag (You can see through the canvas slightly so that makes it easier.) and iron away.

Step 5: There are ironing directions in with the iron-on paper, but basically you place a pillowcase over a wooden cutting board, and press the iron down for about 20 seconds. Slowly remove the paper backing, and if you see the design is “pulling”, it means you didn’t iron it for long enough.
